GRASSROOTS CANDIDATE DR. AILEEN DINKJIAN LEADS GUSD RACE, POISED TO MAKE HISTORY

Glendale, CA - With ballots still being counted, Dr. Aileen Dinkjian is maintaining a strong lead in the Glendale Unified School District Board of Education race for Trustee Area D and is on track to become the first Filipina ever elected to the Glendale Unified School Board. According to the latest election results, Dinkjian has led the race from Election Night through subsequent ballot counts and currently holds a significant advantage over her opponents.

Dinkjian's campaign represents a remarkable grassroots victory. Running a largely volunteer-powered effort, she overcame significant financial disadvantages, independent expenditures, and better-funded opponents by focusing on direct voter engagement. Throughout the campaign, she and her team knocked on thousands of doors, made thousands of voter contacts, and built a broad coalition of parents, educators, healthcare professionals, community advocates, and local leaders.

A longtime South Glendale resident, public health educator, healthcare executive, and mother of three children attending Glendale Unified schools, Dinkjian centered her campaign on student safety, fiscal responsibility, teacher support, student mental health, and family engagement.

"As a daughter of immigrants, a public servant, and a proud parent in this district, I am deeply humbled by the support our campaign has received," said Dinkjian. "This campaign has always been about our students, our teachers, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. The results so far demonstrate that voters responded to a message of experience, integrity, and putting students first."

If elected, Dinkjian would not only become the first Filipina elected to the Glendale Unified School Board, but also add an important voice representing Glendale's diverse communities at a time when school districts face significant challenges related to student well-being, educational funding, and academic achievement.

The race remains unofficial until all ballots have been counted and certified. However, Dinkjian's lead has remained consistent through multiple vote updates since Election Night.
