Giving back with my children.

$24 billion has been dedicated to addressing the housing crisis, yet the crisis continues to grow.

My family has known Lamar Odom since my daughters were toddlers. Despite facing immense personal struggles—including 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks—Lamar has emerged with a renewed purpose, using his life experiences and challenging childhood to give back to our communities. I’m deeply inspired by how he’s channeling his journey into impactful work, launching the Odom Recovery treatment centers (one in San Bernardino), Odom Dental Care, Odom Senior Living, Odom Sports Academy, and fostering collaboration among community-based organizations.

Last weekend, I decided to bring my kids with me to Skid Row in LA to support humans and not the homeless. We gathered our gently used toys and clothes and took them to those in need. It was a powerful moment for my children to witness what community and humanity truly mean. We saw people gathering for a Sunday sermon on the street, and I listened to the CEO of Leaders in Power, Sharis Rhode, talk about her journey from living in Skid Row with a three-year-old to now helping others find hope.

Organizations with a beating heart are out there, making a difference every day. I encourage others to seek them out, support their work, and stand alongside them. None of us can do it alone, but together, we can make an impact.

Thank you to these incredible organizations:

• Chosen Hearts
• Leaders in Power
• Humanity Heroes
• Stronger Together
• Wound Walk Street Medicine
